Being a Tomlinson Scholar opens doors to other prominent awards like the Vaniers or CGSDs and is regarded as the most distinguished internal award given by Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (GPS).

The fellowship provides a considerable financial benefit, with winners earning up to $35,000 annually that is renewable twice. International students further gain from a Differential Fee Waiver (DFW).  Candidates must be accepted into a doctoral program at McGill University with a commencement date of Fall 2023 in order to be eligible.
